Promotion & Relegation

As both the Bassetlaw and South Notts Leagues have concluded their seasons, the NPL Management Committee can now confirm the position with regard to relegation and promotion.
The South Notts League was won by Gedling Colliery and they have accepted the invitation to join the league for 2019, their first since they were relegated in 2008 and they will replace Mansfield Hosiery Mills.
The Bassetlaw & District Championship was won by Clipstone & Bilsthorpe but unfortunately, they do not currently meet the minimum requirements for entry to the Premier League, specifically with regard to Clubmark accreditation. As per League rules, the invitation is then transferred to the second-placed club, Notts & Arnold. Whilst they do meet the entry criteria, they have advised that do not wish to accept the invitation to join the Premier League in 2019 as they feel that they need at least another year for their player group to be ready to compete at the top level. As a result, Caythorpe, the 11th placed club in 2018 will not now be relegated.
The League has offered its support to Clipstone & Bilsthorpe to help them achieve Clubmark accreditation so that they could be promoted in future seasons.
